Saturday our whole family (Me, Jesse & the girls, Mike & Diann, and Chris & Pegan) went to Lake Lowndes to take some family pictures. Chris and Pegan are leaving Saturday (11/1)– moving to Kentucky, so we wanted to take an opportunity and get some pictures of all of us together. The ‘photo shoot’ didn’t go as well as I hoped it would. We got there around 3:30 and the sun was at the worst spot for picture taking. Caleigh threw fit after fit after fit and I was at my wits end soon after we started, which wasn’t good. I really don’t know what else to do at this point with her behavior – she is so sweet and smart, but can become SO ill-tempered at the drop of a hat. She doesn’t just cry – she SCREAMS. If someone were to here her scream like she does, they would probably think we were beating her. We spank, put her in time-out, talk to her, try to give her our undivided attention when we can, etc. Nothing works – she’ll be 4 in March, and I’m hoping the ‘terrible twos’ will play out eventually.
Anyway….enough about that. We did get a few good pictures, so it wasn’t a complete bust.

My Beautiful Girls

I just wanted to share some pictures of my sweet girls.....

Here's my Caleigh bug - you can tell she was not happy about having to smile for the camera. She was more interested in the cartoons on the TV that she was missing....

Birthday Fun

My mother-in-law’s birthday was Friday (Oct 10th), and we went to their house and ate pizza and birthday cake (YUM!). We usually go out to eat whenever it’s someone’s birthday, but the 4 of us (Mike, Diann, Jesse and I) are taking the Dave Ramsey ‘Financial Peace University’ classes at church – and are TRYING to save money and pay off some bills. So no more eating out (at least not like we used to). It is nice to just be home – although I hate cleaning up the kitchen after cooking. I sort of made a deal with Jesse – if I cook supper and clean up, then he has to wash bottles. I think it’s only fair!
Here are some pictures from Friday (as you can see Caleigh loved the pink icing from the cake).

The Joys of Parenthood - HA!

I'm sure not everyone will appreciate this (although some of you fellow mothers might).
Jesse had to leave early this morning to go to Jackson to work for the day. He is usually the one who changes Abbey’s diaper in the morning, but since he was gone I had full parental duty all to myself. I was doing pretty good – I got out of bed early, took a shower, and got Caleigh up and ready for breakfast. I fixed Abbey’s bottle so it would be all ready for her when I got her up. So I go in her room and she’s just a talking and making those sweet baby noises. She sees me and gets the biggest grin on her face (which absolutely thrills me). I notice a bit of a stench of a dirty diaper. So I put her on the changing pad and we are talking and grinning and being silly. I get her yucky diaper off and am in the process of cleaning her up…when, well….I’ll spare you the details but apparently she wasn’t finished taking care of business. This happened 3 TIMES within a minute or so. The end of the changing pad was covered – an all the while she’s got this big grin on her face. It was a bit traumatic for me, but I finally managed to get her cleaned up and fed. Of course I call Jesse and let him know what he missed out on and how unfair it is that these things always happen when he’s out of town.
I still managed to get the girls dropped off and even had time to go by Hardee's on my way to work (I know – why would I even be hungry after that, but hey, a girl’s gotta eat).

So here's some of the pictures that I took at Country Pumpkins. I think I took more pictures of the pumpkins then I did of my children, but I didn't have to fight with the pumpkins ;-).

So Jesse and I got to go on a date Saturday night. We ate and went to see 'Fireproof' - if you haven't seen it - GO - and take your spouse or significant other. It was AWESOME! I'd love to go see it again. We also took the girls to the pumpkin patch (Country Pumpkins) in Caledonia Saturday afternoon. It was such a beautiful day - although I wish it had been a little cooler. The girls got cranky, so I didn't get as many cute pictures as I would have liked to, but it was still fun. Caleigh was excited about picking out some pumpkins - I let her get 6 of the tiny ones and boy was she proud. The girls stayed with Mike and Diann Saturday night - so it was quite relaxing to get to come home and not have to take care of anybody else but ourselves for a while.

I think I am getting closer to getting internet at home again - I'm anxious to get some pictures up. Well...gotta get back to work..... Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Abbey has decided she likes bath time. For the first few weeks of her life she HATED baths (so did mommy and daddy). She likes kicking her feet in the water.

this was before we got her hair cut - her bangs were awful! :-)

Caleigh

Caleigh
Yes, she has 'bed head'. She didn't even change out of her PJ's until she had a bath that night. Any time that I want to get her all 'cutsied up' to take pictures, she refuses and it turns into a battle until I finally give up. Guess I'm having to pay for being so stubborn myself....
